Laure Sottas Solenghi und Nadir Solenghi haben beide an der ETH Zürich die Ausbildung als Bauingenieure absolviert. Nach dem Studium trat Laure Sottas in die Verkaufsabteilung der Firma ihres Vaters, Bernard Sottas, ein, zunächst in der Stahlbaukalkulation und später übernahm sie die Leitung Verkauf und Marketing. Nadir Solenghi stiess im Jahr 2000 als Projektleiter und Abteilungsleiter zu Sottas AG, wo er aktiv die Ausbildung im Bereich Fassadenbau dank der Gründung der «Ecole du Métal» ausbaute. Das Ehepaar übernahm 2010 das Familienunternehmen (Geschäftsleitung, Aktienbesitz und Vorsitz). Ihre mehrsprachigen Kompetenzen ermöglichen eine Firmenöffnung innerhalb der ganzen Schweiz und Europa. Mit ihren heutigen über 350 treuen und engagierten Mitarbeitern tragen sie authentisch, kühn, und innovativ die Werte eines schweizerischen familiären KMUs nach Aussen.

Laure and Nadir Solenghi run Sottas AG together as president and CEO and share some of their experiences taking over the firm and how operations were affected by the emergence of the pandemic. Having taken over the company from Laure’s father, the transfer of leadership was a process several years in the making. Several values and principles have remained central to the firm and have helped guide leadership during the pandemic. The health and safety of employees was of course critical, but it was also important to communicate with them; making sure no one felt forgotten was part of the philosophy that helped during the initial crisis and uncertainty. Fostering trust throughout the company is vital, as well as having a healthy amount of skepticism while still taking advantage of opportunities. In hindsight, many of the decisions made were the correct ones, and were relatively clear with a certain amount of common sense, but it is still unsure what the future holds.
