Since 1981, Donna Carpenter has been a driving force at Burton, the world’s leading snowboard company. During her first job at Burton, she dipped snowboards in polyurethane and answered the customer service line. Donna Carpenter expanded Burton’s business to Europe and ran the company’s first international office in Innsbruck, Austria. She made Burton a brand of choice as well as employer of choice for women. Due to her leadership, Burton now has progressive parent policies, mentoring programs and a diverse leadership team. In 2010, Donna took over the role of company president and became Burton’s first female CEO in 2016. She was named “Super Woman” by Refinery29 and “The Snowboard Ambassador” by The New York Times.
