Carlo Rovelli is a theoretical physicist. He was born in Italy, studied in Bologna and Padova and has worked in several Universities in Italy, the United States and France. He is currently at the University of Aix-Marseille, where he leads the Quantum Gravity research group of the Center for Theoretical Physics of Luminy. He is one of the founders of Loop Quantum Gravity, a main candidate theory for combining Einstein's relativity with quantum mechanics. In the last decades, Rovelli has written books for the large public that have had a global success. His "Seven Brief Lessons on Physics" has been translated in 41 languages and has sold over a million copies. The magazine Foreign Policy has included Rovelli in its 2019 list of the 100 most influential Global Thinkers.
