Als Mitgründerin leitet Anne Mellano die globalen Management-Aktivitäten von Bestmile, was die Identifizierung von Geschäftsmöglichkeiten und die Beaufsichtigung der Marketing- und Kommunikations-Aktivitäten des Unternehmens einschliesst. Die Bauingenieurin mit Spezialisierung auf innovative Transportsysteme leitet zudem Bestmiles Teilnahme an von der Schweiz und der Europäischen Union (EU) geförderten Mobilitätsprojekten.
Vor Bestmiles Gründung arbeitete Anne Mellano in einem Stadtplanungsbüro als Verkehrsingenieurin, wo sie schliesslich gemeinsam mit dem Mitgründer Raphaël Gindrat das Konzept der Bestmile-Flottenorchestrierungsplattform entwickelte, um autonome Fahrzeuge als intelligente Flotten zusammenarbeiten zu lassen.
Anne Mellano ist eine anerkannte Expertin für Mobilitätsdienstleistungen und setzt sich weltweit für eine sichere, effiziente und zugängliche Mobilität für alle ein. Sie hat an der EPFL einen Master-Abschluss in Bauingenieurwesen mit Spezialisierung in Verkehrsplanung erworben.

Co-Founder of Bestmile Anne Mellano works to optimize mobility with intelligent, autonomous vehicle fleets. The company uses an orchestrating platform to organize joint routes according to requirements, reducing traffic jams and pollution. Even though many cities worldwide are interested in these systems, Bestmile has been hit hard by the pandemic. The demand for public transport has been reduced by many people working from home and lockdowns. This is compounded by the fact that many projects tend to be scrapped during times of crisis. There is a silver lining, however; a lot of the hesitation to adopt new systems in transport is linked to the logistical nightmare of changing a running system. The fact that many transport companies are experiencing reduced loads is giving many of them time to analyze and potentially improve their systems with less disruption than otherwise. First and foremost, however, Bestmile is holding out for a return to normalcy.
