Beatrice Weder di Mauro is a renowned economist and President of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Europe's leading network of economists. She holds a chair in international economics at the Geneva Graduate Institute (IHEID) and is research professor at INSEAD.

She served as consultant for governments, international organizations, and central banks, including the European Commission, the IMF, and the World Bank. Notably, she advised the German government for a decade as a member of the German Council of Economic Experts. Presently, she is an independent director on the board of Bosch and Unigestion, having previously served on the board of Roche, Thyssen Krupp, and UBS. Due to her extensive work on debt, currency, and banking crises, she identifies as a "crisis economist." Her ongoing research focuses on the macroeconomic implications of the climate crisis.
